What about the game?
One of the games I did play through when it came out was Quantum of Solace on the Xbox, a hybrid 1st and 3rd person shooter. You play as Bond (Daniel Craig) in the adaptation of the films plot.
Normally games based on films aren’t great, I’m not sure why but maybe a lot of the games budget is taken up in licensing fees, who know, right! Quantum of Solace is different, it’s a very good game, the graphics and voice overs are good, and the gameplay mechanic of 1st and 3rd person works very well.
I haven’t played this game in a long time but revisiting it again I can see why I got sucked in the games plot, it plays very well, and times flies along. If you’re interested in the game then it’s worth watching the video, whilst not a review or even a good demonstration of skill my video will show you what the game’s first 15 minutes or so has to offer..

Summary of 007 Quantum of Solace
007 Quantum of Solace is a 2008 third-person / first-person hybrid shooter developed by Treyarch and published by Activision for Xbox 360 (and other platforms). It is a direct tie-in to the 2008 James Bond film of the same name, continuing Daniel Craig’s portrayal of Bond.
Setting and Story The game picks up immediately after the events of Casino Royale. You play as James Bond as he hunts down those responsible for the death of Vesper Lynd. The single-player campaign follows the film’s plot across multiple locations including Italy, Austria, Bolivia, and Russia, with a mix of high-octane action, stealth sections, and cinematic set pieces.
Gameplay
- Hybrid Mechanics: Switches between third-person cover-based shooting and first-person aiming for precision shots.
- Cover System: Fluid “Take Cover” mechanic that lets you dash between cover points and blind-fire.
- Bond Moments: Quick-time events and environmental takedowns give it a cinematic feel.
- Multiplayer: (at the time) featured 12-player online modes with classic Bond gadgets and maps inspired by the films.
Graphics & Sound The game looked strong in 2008 with detailed character models (especially Daniel Craig) and solid environmental detail. Voice acting is excellent, featuring Craig himself along with many actors from the film.
Reception & Legacy It was one of the better Bond tie-in games, praised for its tight controls and faithful adaptation of the film’s tone. While the campaign is relatively short (5–7 hours), it delivers a polished action experience that still holds up reasonably well today, especially for fans of the Daniel Craig era.
