What about the game?
At first glance, this is not a game I’d play, and loading in the game it was as expected, plain and lacklustre. That’s not the end though, since playing through this game and hosting a retro venue event I have realised this game does have it place… Despite my harsh initial view of the game it lives within retro events, nights in with the lads or family easy play titles.
Grab a few beers, get some friends round – even if they are not gamers, this game is easy to play and appeal to a broad spectrum of people, I reckon this would be a good laugh and fun game played on a couch with 3 other friends. The subject matter most people would know TMNT has a long founded place in pop culture, maybe this game deserves a place on your shelf if you like the social aspect of gaming in person and not online.
So for now, why not watch me play the game on YouTube, give it a like if you like, if not no worries, see you next time.

Summary of the Game
Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a 2013 beat ’em up game developed by Magic Pockets and published by Activision for Xbox 360 (also on Wii and 3DS). It is based on the popular 2012 Nickelodeon CGI animated series.
Setting and Story The game follows Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael as they battle their way through New York City and beyond to stop the evil plans of the Kraang and other classic TMNT villains. The story is set in the same universe as the 2012 cartoon, featuring plenty of pizza, sewer action, and brotherly banter.
Gameplay
- Classic Beat ’em Up Action: Side-scrolling brawler gameplay where you switch between the four turtles, each with their own unique weapons and fighting style.
- Combo System: Chain together attacks, special moves and team-up combinations.
- Upgrades & Collectibles: Find items to upgrade your turtles’ stats and unlock new abilities.
- Boss Battles: Face off against larger-than-life enemies including the Kraang, Shredder and more.
- Local Co-op: Supports up to 4 players locally (great for couch play).
Graphics & Sound The Xbox 360 version features bright, colourful cartoon-style visuals faithful to the TV show, with solid animations and voice acting from the series cast. The soundtrack captures the fun, energetic feel of the show.
Reception & Legacy It’s a straightforward, nostalgic beat ’em up that fans of the 2012 series enjoyed, especially in local multiplayer. While not the deepest game, it delivers fun, accessible turtle power for younger players and retro fans looking for a light-hearted co-op experience.
